African Talents Foundation – About Us
The African Talents Foundation was established to support children and young people in Lagos, Nigeria, through education, sport, and essential food assistance. Our work is based on direct, personal connections with local schools and communities, focusing on real needs and long-term impact.
Our approach
We believe that education is the foundation of opportunity. As educators and local partners, we work primarily with schools and school-age children, supporting learning environments where children can develop knowledge, discipline, and confidence. In addition to education, we also support youth sports initiatives, particularly football, as a powerful tool for personal development, teamwork, and social inclusion.
We recognize that learning is not possible without basic stability. For this reason, our programs also include food support for children and families in need, ensuring that education and development can take place under humane conditions.
Our founders
The foundation was co-founded by Ildikó Roskó-Kovách, a theologian and religion teacher based in Hungary, and Emmanuel Oyedeji, a former professional footballer originally from Lagos, Nigeria.
Ildikó Roskó-Kovách graduated in Theology at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest. She currently teaches religion and organizes retreats focused on contemplation and inner silence. Her work is deeply rooted in Christian values such as compassion, responsibility, and service. As an educator, she is especially committed to supporting children through schools and educational programs, believing that learning is one of the most effective paths toward a dignified and independent life. She has visited Lagos multiple times and has firsthand experience with the realities faced by children and schools in disadvantaged communities.
Emmanuel Oyedeji is originally from Lagos and has lived in Hungary for over a decade, where he played professional football and remains officially registered with the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ). His long-term goal is to support young football talents in Nigeria by creating pathways toward structured training and development opportunities. He maintains strong local relationships with coaches, schools, and sports communities in Lagos and plays a key role in coordinating programs between Nigeria and Europe.
Local presence and partnerships
The foundation works closely with trusted local partners in Lagos. Stephen Oyedeji, based in Nigeria, supports our activities as a local coordinator and football program manager. He has strong connections with local football schools and educational institutions, including schools in Badagry, where several of our visits and support activities have taken place. His presence ensures continuous communication, cultural understanding, and reliable local coordination.
Our mission
The African Talents Foundation is committed to supporting African children through education, sport, and essential assistance, with transparency, respect, and long-term responsibility. We do not aim to replace local initiatives but to strengthen them through cooperation, trust, and shared commitment.
